Lira still in use in Italy

Although it's over eight years ago now when  in most countries in West Europe the Euro came in use overnight at New Year 2002. Some shops in Italy are still using the Italian Lira as a reference, probably this is intended for older people still calculating back to their trusted currency, which represents 1936 Lire for one Euro (1574 Lire per USD).
